Prepping for the Show!

We are only 1 week away from the ICFA Preview Show in Chicago and the Woodard Marketing team is hard at work in preparation for the big event.  Shipments of furniture have been arriving steadily in Woodard's Chicago showroom over the last few weeks and we are working away to get the place ready for the big reveal! We're very excited to share all of the new design's for the season with everyone next week. We hope you will all love them as much as we do!

Woodard Gives Back

Did you know that Woodard is not only a leading manufacturer of outdoor furniture? Woodard is also a giver!

Woodard recently made a total of over $125,000 worth of donations in the form of furniture to various charities, including The Salvation Army, Ada S. Mickinley Community Services and St. Michael's Church in the Chicagoland area.

Thankful for being in this industry for over 145 years, it is not lost on us that our customers keep us going.  We're grateful we have been able to create beautiful and quality furniture for all of these years and jump on opportunities to pay it forward whenever we can.

Here's to 145 years of pride, tradition, quality, and craftsmanship...and if we're lucky, 145 more!

Have you heard the news? "Pinterest" has officially taken over the world! If you don't know, pinterest is a new social medial site where the consumer puts together virtual corkboards in which they "pin" photos that they love or are inspired by, to gain ideas for redecorating, or whatever their hearts desire.

Woodard Starring in "The Avengers"

Happy Friday, everyone!

Woodard has some exciting news! Our furniture was chosen to be used in one of the outdoor cafe scenes in the new blockbuster, The Avengers!! The Moderne collection gets blown up in a thrilling action scene in the movie. Be sure to check it out while you're enjoying a trip to the movie theater this weekend! Here's a photo of a the collection being utilized on set. See if you can spot it in the film!

Woodard Being Honored in Art Exhibition

The below press release went out to industry publications this week. Take a look!

Woodard, an innovative leader in the outdoor furniture industry, is being featured in a major exhibition sponsored by the Shiawassee Art Center in Owosso, MI. As an American-based, pioneering manufacturer of wrought iron, aluminum and all-seasons wicker outdoor furniture, Woodard is being honored and recognized for its important and historical contributions to the American furniture industry for the past 146 years.

Focusing on Woodard’s time-honored tradition of quality and innovation, the exhibit will run for 2 months from June 1 – July 29 on the main floor of the Shiawassee Art Center in Owosso, MI and will display three centuries worth of designs, spanning from the original wood chairs that were made in the late 1800s to today’s current wrought iron furniture. The exhibit will also include Woodard designs that are currently part of the permanent collections in both the Smithsonian and Cooper-Hewitt Museums.

“We are excited to be a part of this exhibition and see it as an opportunity to share with others the roots of Woodard as well as the growth and change that have been a part of our heritage over the past 146 years,” stated Matt Weiss, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Woodard.  The exhibit is a source of dignity and esteem for a company that has been proudly based in Owosso, MI since its founding in 1866.  Woodard is looking forward to continuing the “Made in America” ideals, traditions and craftsmanship implemented by its founders in Owosso all those years ago and is excited to share its history with the community and the industry alike.

Photoshoot!

Woodard headed out on the 2013 Photoshoot this week. Traveling to corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX, the location photography was set in the beautiful Highland Park neighborhood. We were able to get great shots of the product from our upcoming 2013 line. We're excited to share the photography with you in the new catalog and can't wait for you all to see the fabulous new designs at the International Casual Furniture Association pre-market show in July!
